Trichostrongylus sp.- 3rd stage (filariform) larva from agar plate culture of goat faeces from farm where human also infected. 723 (644-790) x26 microns with tubercles on posterior end and prominent intestinal cells.. Anus to tip of tail sheath - 95 microns. Human Trichostrongyliasis is not reported often; people present with eosinophilia , either with no abdominal symptoms or with mild discomfort and diarrhoea. Infection occurs following ingestion of unwashed vegetables contaminated with goat or horse manure. see Boreham RE. et al. 1995. Pathology. 27:182-185.
